Has anyone found an easy step solution to installing Flash Player on Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1

Hello!
I work with Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1. (The recources of
my laptop are more than sufficient to run currently issued programs.
)
The download of Adobe Flash Player Active X was ok. There were no
Error messages.
But i cant install it.
The Adobe Help Site offers a variety of ploblem solutions which I find
impossible to follow all through since I am only an average
experienced computer user.
Has anyone found an easy solution to the current installing problem?
